I am Sainath Krishnamurthy, a designer, researcher, and technologist exploring the intersections of technology, design, and the human experience. I’m born, raised, and currently live in Houston, Texas. My path began as a child with a fascination for how technology shapes the way people live, think, and connect. That curiosity led me to pursue and complete a B.S. in Industrial Design from the Gerald D. Hines School of Architecture at the University of Houston in 2022, where I developed both perspective and skills in design and understanding people.

I started OpusLABS, an independent studio where I research and experiment with new ways of interacting with hardware and software. My work focuses on how AI, sensors, and human centered design can come together to build tools that expand human awareness and reshape our relationship with technology. I am interested in both the practical and the philosophical dimensions of this work, from hardware research and human computer interaction to questions of the future of intelligence its consumer and business applications. I am constantly learning about the latest in AI, startups, technology, design, and more, and all my projects are practical applications of these interests.

My interests extend into music, writing, and cultural inquiry. I spend time writing essays on my Substack that bring together design, technology, and reflection of the world we are in. I also explore creative expression through photography, DJing, and collaborative projects that cross disciplines. I approach these pursuits with empathy, seeing them as ways to connect with people and ideas while grounding my design practice in culture and lived experience. I am also a member of the Design and Posthumanism Network, where I contribute to conversations that look beyond the anthropocentric lens.

I am drawn to projects that ask difficult questions and push beyond boundaries, whether through experimenting with new forms of hardware and software, building communities of practice, or creating works that reflect on the evolving human condition. My work is ultimately about approaching technology, design, and life with empathy, curiosity, and imagination, while contributing to a broader conversation on how we live with technology.

Ultimately, I want to make cool and innovative things that help people.
